Individual Therapy

Traditional talk therapy meets the wisdom traditions.

In a typical session, we’ll spend a good amount of time sitting and talking together. An opportunity for experiential work often presents itself. For example— parts work, where you enter a meditative state and make direct contact with younger parts of you. Or hypnotic memory or time travel work, dream work or other imaginative or somatic unfoldings.

Or, I’ll invite you to get up from the couch and move around the room, experimenting with an energy or capacity that arose in our conversation.

If we’re outside you might engage in “wanders”—slow intentional interactions with the wild others.

This experiential work tends to bring out symbols, themes and relationships that ask for deeper engagement. That’s when we turn to ritual. I also typically suggest a co-created opening ceremony for the therapy once we establish what you’re working toward.

I will also offer ways to continue engaging with the material in between sessions. If you’d like our work to focus on your practice in between sessions, consider mentorship instead of therapy.

I offer a big permission field where we can be bold, experimental, and even playful with the things that haunt you.

Couples Therapy

Couples have existential crises too.

It was straight magic at the beginning. But before you know it you’re asking, Wait—what are we doing? Why is this so hard? Or maybe you had a baby, or your parent got sick. You have to discover who you are together in this new chapter.

One person usually secretly hopes I’ll side with them and change their partner. That’s not how this works. Or rather, that doesn’t work. Your troubles are a dynamic that you create together. My approach requires radical ownership and a willingness to compassionately point the finger back at yourself (each of you).

I hold the conviction that the hardships of your connection are the keys to uncovering its magic.

The Natural World is Magic

It created you for starters! Well…if we’re looking at starts we have to back track billions of years. If Earth’s life unfolded in a day, humans would emerge only 6 seconds before midnight.

Earth is a living breathing organism that functions on mass scale—rivers for blood vessels, atmosphere for lungs, migrating creatures for digestive system, ecosystems for organs.

We are a part of this! Not just knowing, but truly experiencing, that you are a cell of a giant body is foundational to a meaningful, grounded, and beautiful human life.

This is not just stress relief. We are each meant to play a role in Earth’s unfolding, to fill an ecological niche like all the other creatures. We just have the blessing and curse of first needing to discover what that is. ‍

I really encourage outdoor sessions!

I will support you with accessible and structured ways to connect and deepen your relationship with the wild Others.

Ritual & Ceremony

I realized I could take one of two paths—I could face how I was hurt as a child, or I could keep hoping that a romantic relationship would save me. I knew what I had to do. I held a ceremony and took the red pill of truth.

A woman inside a red circle of fabric, squatting with one hand on the ground and the other reaching up to the sky.

I wanted so deeply to find the life that was really mine that I made an offering, a sacrifice. I put my job on the altar. I didn’t quit. I burned my paystubs to let Mystery know what I was willing to give it up.

One of the reasons ceremony and ritual are so powerful is because they draw on symbol—the red pill, the paystub. Something primordial is invoked in the symbolic realm—it is REAL in a way that literal things or just words can’t be.

Many modern moments are marked with ritual or ceremony: weddings, graduations, birthdays. Yet it is mostly a lost art. Even these often feel rote or irrelevant. Creating personalized and sacred ritual is a powerful healing technology, one that puts us in dialogue with the great Mystery at the heart of life.

Ritual and ceremony are a part of all my work with clients—1:1, couples, and groups. If you are planning a major ceremony like a wedding, or are wanting to make sacred a transition of some kind, I am happy to offer a handful of mentoring sessions to support your creation.

Workshops & Groups

I apprentice on 5-12 day wilderness programs with Animas Valley Institute 2-3 times per year. These are powerful ceremonies that can truly change your life.

I have two signature offerings in the works:

  1. UNMASK—an online program focused on authenticity, embodiment and expression

  2. Wound Alchemy—a 5 day intensive in person in nature where we will make myth of your chronic physical difficulties

I also offer regular in-person short form workshops on topics such as reclaiming projection, perception play, and dream tending.

Anything scheduled is listed here. If you’d like to hear when I schedule new things, please join my email list.

1:1 Mentorship

A white sigil (abstract symbol) that looks like an hourglass with a diamond in the center.

Mentorship is different from psychotherapy in some key ways. I don’t diagnose, assess, or treat mental health conditions as your mentor, and mentorship with me is not a substitute for mental health treatment.

Mentorship is also different in that it tends to focus on your exploration in between sessions, including wandering the land, self-designed ceremony, relational experimentation or embodiment practice.

We’ll discuss what’s going on for you in our time together, and then I’ll offer invitations for you to pursue. The relationship doesn’t really work if you don’t have time to explore those invitations. This usually also means less frequent sessions—once or twice per month.

Dream work, parts work (especially supporting your own inner tracking) and imaginal work are all elements of mentorship, as is supporting your integration or preparation for big experiences.

If you met me at an Animas intensive or other workshop, mentorship is a great way to deepen your soul journey with someone who was present for its revelation.
